“Raising capital is easy”

When talking to folks in the financial industry, it can seem there are billions of Rands washing around looking for investment opportunities.

Bankers and fund managers are desperate for places to put their bucks.

All you have to do is bring an opportunity.

“Raising capital is easy.”

Yeah right.

In the real world it doesn’t work like that.

In the real world raising capital is not easy.

That’s because, in the real world, businesses aren’t started by bankers, they’re started by entrepreneurs.

Entrepreneurs and bankers don’t speak the same language, they don’t play the same game, they don’t use the same packaging.

That’s why in the real world it’s very difficult for entrepreneurs to raise capital.

So you have a choice: Rail against the injustices of the real world, and don’t raise capital.

Or:

Accept the real world, and bring in a partner who understand banker-speak so that your dream can be translated into something that can attract investment.

Your choice.
