Controlling people is not long-term sustainable

It’s tempting to get people to do your beckoning by providing financial carrots.

To control people with gold.

And it works, in the short term.

The problem is the long term.

Eventually folks won’t need the gold, and when they don’t need the gold, they won’t need to listen to you.

Better to build a company where people do what you want them to because they want to, not because they have to.

That’s the way to create long term loyalty and value.

How do you do that? Have a meaningful mission, lead by example, be honest, look after your team.

You can’t fake it.

Better to sleep easy at night, than to control with gold.
